CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS

In just the first year, the “We Are Family” Community Development Corporation:

Opened a Child Learning Center in the Liberty Road Church Annex, providing day care and after school care for toddlers and youth; the center has licensed instructors, age appropriate equipment, computer training and foreign language education.

Ran our first Summer Youth Day Camp for community youth, which also gave area youth and adults summer jobs.

Launched a 21st Century Community Learning Center, “Project Riches”, giving after school enrichment and tutorial services to over 100 children from Scotts Branch Elementary School.

Provided funding to help continue a successful Young Men’s Program to teach life skills and offer enrichment activities for young teens.

Provided a resource for the expansion of a Legal Advice Service to give area residents needed direction when they are faced with complex problems.

Secured funding to start a Young Men’s Friday Night Basketball Program and a Girl’s Circle Program to make safe, supervised activities available for community youth.
