Updated 2012/2013 Baptism Schedule
Section II. The Articles of Religion
Baptism is not only a sign of profession, and mark of difference; but it is also a sign of regeneration, or the new birth.
The baptism of young children is to be retained in the Church.
To Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Baptism is a Holy Sacrament of the Church
"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:18-20
Baptism is one of the African Methodist Episcopal Church's holy sacraments. It is one of the most sacred events in your Christian life.
We have established a new procedure for baptisms. In order for an adult, child, or infant to be baptized, the adult or the parents must attend a "Preparation for Baptism" session with the pastor or his designee. This session is a prerequisite for baptism. If you are unable to attend, the baptism will be postponed.
Baptisms are now held quarterly, per the following schedule for this conference year:

Please contact the Union Bethel administrative office at 410.922.3286 for further information. You may also complete a baptism form (link at the top of this page) to place in the Board of Stewards mail box. Once you have notified the church of your interest, you will be contacted to coordinate the baptism date and date for the preparation session. Remember -- baptism is a sign of regeneration or new birth.
