Union Bethel Food Pantry Food Giveaways are in partnership with the Maryland Food Bank. The Union Bethel Food Giveaway is a caring community of volunteers who serve our church families and community with free nutritious food. We are committed to providing food at no cost on the first Saturday of the month.

The Union Bethel AME Church Annual Shred Event is a community gathering where people can safely and securely destroy sensitive personal papers.

The documents are completely destroyed right on the spot so no one can have access to your personal information.

With great joy and thanksgiving to God, Union Bethel AME Church is honored to welcome Elder Charles T. Sembly (Retired), who faithfully served as our pastor from 1984–2022, as the Keynote Speaker for our Bicentennial Gala on October 17, 2026.

A prolific preacher, gifted speaker, and accomplished historian of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Elder Sembly has devoted a lifetime to proclaiming the Gospel, preserving our rich heritage, and faithfully serving the Church of Jesus Christ. As we celebrate 200 years of God’s faithfulness from generation to generation, it is especially fitting that one who shepherded Union Bethel for nearly four decades will return to help us commemorate this historic milestone.

We look forward with great anticipation to hearing from our former pastor, our historian, and a treasured part of the Union Bethel story—Elder Charles T. Sembly!

Celebrating 200 Years of Faith, Legacy & God’s Amazing Grace!

As Union Bethel continues our historic Bicentennial journey, we give God thanks for 200 years of unwavering faith, faithful witness, and generations of believers who have carried the Gospel from generation to generation.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 10am, we joyfully welcome home our church family, friends, former members, and all who have been a part of the Union Bethel story for a glorious Bicentennial Homecoming Celebration!

We are especially blessed and honored to welcome as our Homecoming Guest Preacher, Bishop Harry L. Seawright, 133rd elected and consecrated Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and Presiding Prelate of the Second Episcopal District.

A fourth-generation AME whose life and ministry have been rooted in faith and service, Bishop Seawright brings to this historic celebration a distinguished legacy of pastoral, episcopal, and denominational leadership.

As we remember the faith of those who came before us, celebrate what God is doing among us today, and look with expectation toward the generations yet to come, we invite you to join us for this extraordinary moment in the life of Union Bethel.
